The Debate is an experimental multi-media dance-theater piece that was created for the UNC Process Series' 19th Amendment Project this year to mark the 100th anniversary of women's right to vote. How far have women come in the past 100 years since the passage of the 19th Amendment? Why can we not elect a woman president? The rhetoric around female politicians today and the suffragettes from 100 years ago is shockingly similar. In this important time in our political history, women's voices are still being silenced, with women of color often being erased.
