Two best friends spend four years apart until finally they are reunited in a Chicago Cafe. Through a series of flashbacks, Mal, a quirky artsy Chicago queer from Ohio navigates themself through originally identifying as a woman to identifying as non-binary trans masc, and navigates trauma with relationships (both queer and straight). Josh, a scared questionably-funny kind-hearted human navigates through his own orientation and self-confidence. Through their Jewish faith, support overtime, and a lifetime of adventures, Mal and Josh create a powerful, playful, and dynamic friendship that affects their relationships with the other significant people in their lives.
Star or Plane leaves the questions: What makes a good friend and why is friendship important?
