Love and Information by Caryl Churchill explores love, grief, depression, and the moments that shape our lives and our relationships.
Someone sneezes. Someone can't get a signal. Someone shares a secret. Someone won't answer the door. Someone put an elephant on the stairs. Someone's not ready to talk. Someone is her brother's mother. Someone hates irrational numbers. Someone told the police. Someone got a message from the traffic light. Someone's never felt like this before.
In this fast-moving kaleidoscope, more than a hundred characters try to make sense of what they know.
Love and Information is part of WTFringe Lab, a structured training, mentorship, and creation program designed for early-stage women+ (and ally) directors to develop foundational skills in directing and producing.
Starting in March 2020, the cohort has met monthly to learn foundational artistic and logistic directing skills. They have each also been working with an individual directing mentor in order to have a dedicated support system to complement the cohort classes.
Between meetings, cohort members have each been preparing a different section of
Love and Information. Each director has had autonomy in conceptualizing, casting, and directing their piece of the play. As a culminating event, WTF is pulling all of the sections together to be presented as a shared production for WTFringe.
