Highlighter Girl explores the Asian-American paradox of feeling culturally invisible, but also culturally alienated. Sisters Emily and Tiffany try to balance the weird, often opposing expectations thrust upon them as Asian American teens. Do they fit in too much? Or stand out too much? What's the right answer?
