"Virtual Theatre" is a series geared towards overcoming the obstacles posed by new artistic formats. Through several sessions, participants will learn the technical and instructional fundamentals of virtual theater development and performance. Using the CREW Model, they will understand an implementation model that includes all key aspects from roles and performance experience to logistics and facilitation. Despite the hurdles inherent to online theatre, the series prepares participants with the tools necessary to amplify the experiences of rehearsals and performances, including options for audience interaction, insight on how actors can work and interact with a camera in a home studio setup, and other uses for virtual theatre.

The training contains three sections: Getting Started, The PREP Model, and Fine-Tuning.
Part 2, The PREP Model, walks the participant through a virtual theater implementation model that includes all key aspects from roles and content creation to logistics and facilitation.

Technology: Mastering an expanding array of tools designed specifically to engage the online audience. Scheduling support staff—producer, instructional designer, and/or IT—to provide extra sets of hands during your sessions.

Technique: Adapting stage and screen acting, directing, and design techniques for the online streaming performance space.

NOTE: This is a ticketed event. Please visit our Eventbrite to purchase a ticket.
This session will begin at 11:00 am ET on Thursday, July 16th, 2020.
